This has got to be the best thermometer I have used so far. I bought this Professional Clinical Large LCD Non-contact Infrared Thermometer Forehead for my newborn, I wanted something that would be accurate and not bother him too much while taking the readings.

Our son was taken to the hospital ER recently after his 2 day + high fever was not controlled with Tylenol. We brought this Professional Clinical Large LCD Non-contact Infrared Thermometer Forehead, thinking that it might have been inaccurate, like all home thermometers seem to be.

I am an ICU nurse and in that environment temp is incredibly important. This Welch Allyn Suretemp Plus is the thermometer brand used in the hospital (one of the top 10 in the nation) and they work quite well. The ones in the unit are the 692 model, but there are no additional features those add that anyone really uses except the wall mount. In fact, the 690 and 692 share the same manual.

Temps are taken on each patient 2-3 times per 12-hour shift, and more if there is any concern. We take temps via oral or axillary (armpit) routes. We never do rectal with these. I love this thermometer. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely an expensive purchase. However, the money was well spent. This Welch Allyn Suretemp Plus 690 Electronic Thermometer is the best thermometer I have used. It is common to see in use at medical offices. Quick and reliable.

We have used this Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer MODEL# TAT-2000C product for both our son, and now our daughter. It allows us to check temperature when they are sleeping without waking them up. We have found it to be very accurate and the night light is a great feature when sneaking around their bedroom.

This Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer has been a life saver, it is VERY accurate and she doesn't mind it one bit. We also love that is uses a simple 9v battery instead of little expensive batteries. " I'm an ER nurse and we use temporal artery thermometers in our ER. They are much more accurate than underarm or in the ear, although the gold standard is a rectal temperature, which can be upsetting to children." Would be a great baby shower gift.

It was so easy to take her temperature! The Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer was a breeze! It's amazing how easy it was! We purchased tho because we seem to struggle getting our 6 month old daughter to stay still long enough to get an accurate temperature reading.

The tip is small enough to fit comfortably in her ear and the thermometer reads within a couple seconds, very fast. We recently purchased this ear thermometer after reading a number of positive reviews online. The cost initially gave us pause, but since this product will be primarily used on our small children quality, accuracy and reliability were important considerations and outweighed the cost factor.
